Awards
__________________________________________________________________
The Vermont Chapter holds annual awards to celebrate and recognize outstanding works by Vermont Landscape Architects. There are two awards programs:
(1) Public Places Awards program on the odd years (2019, 2021, etc.)
This awards program is organized jointly by:
The Vermont Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects
The Vermont Planners Association
The Vermont Chapter of the American Institute of Architects
The Vermont Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers
The Vermont Urban and Community Forest Program
The purpose of the awards program is to honor Vermont’s public spaces and to recognize special exterior or interior spaces, accessible to the public, which have been defined or enriched by design or planning, and to recognize regulations, studies, plans or policies which promote positive, active uses of Vermont’s public spaces.
(2) VT ASLA Chapter Awards on the odd years (2020, 2022, etc.).
The selected projects are categorized by:
- Landscape Architectural Design—recognizes constructed, site-specific works of landscape architectural design.
- Landscape Planning, Research and Analysis—recognizes the wide variety of professional activity that precedes, guides, or evaluates landscape architectural design, including development, conservation, and preservation plans; government policies, programs and legislature; environmental analysis; and various landscape analysis activities.
- Landscape Architectural Communication—exemplifies achievements in communicating landscape architectural information, technology, theory, or practice to those within and/or outside the profession.
